Emotional Eating vs. Disordered Eating: How Do You Know the Difference?
“Is This Normal?” It’s one of the most common and most vulnerable questions I hear in therapy. Normally, I would…
Laura Artzberger is a licensed professional counselor with a passion for helping adults heal their relationship with food, body, and self. With over 15 years of clinical experience, Laura specializes in working with individuals struggling with disordered eating, emotional eating, and body image concerns—particularly those who have felt overlooked or stigmatized in traditional treatment settings.
Laura’s work integrates evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches. She helps clients uncover the emotional and behavioral patterns that drive cycles of overeating, restriction, and self-criticism, fostering lasting change through self-awareness, compassion, and skill development. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of each person’s lived experience—focused on healing, not dieting.
Laura believes that recovery from disordered eating involves reconnecting with one’s values and learning to care for the body with kindness rather than control. She works to create a safe, judgment-free space where clients can explore their stories, build emotional resilience, and move toward a more peaceful, empowered relationship with food and their bodies.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys singing and playing music, spending time with her husband, son, and two dogs, and exploring new creative outlets that bring balance and joy to her life.
