We deliver our full eating disorder treatment program by telehealth to patients anywhere in Texas, the same Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval accredited care our San Antonio patients receive, brought to your home. You should not have to move or commute for hours to get expert help for binge eating disorder.

What Telehealth Eating Disorder Treatment at BCC Includes

Our online program is not a watered-down version of in-person care. It is the same structured Intensive Outpatient Program, about three months and roughly 30 sessions, meeting two to three times per week, delivered securely over video. You attend group therapy, individual therapy, family sessions, and skills work from wherever you are in the state. Even our experiential care translates to telehealth: you cook alongside our chef in your own kitchen during cooking classes, and you practice mindful eating with foods from your own home.

This matters most for people who have given up looking. If specialized binge eating disorder treatment simply does not exist near you, telehealth is not a compromise, it is the only way many overeaters in rural and small-town Texas can access a program of this depth. BCC is the only program of its kind in Texas, and telehealth puts it within reach of the entire state.

Our Clinical Approach and the Team Behind It

Distance changes the delivery, not the quality. Our telehealth program uses the same evidence-based modalities as our in-person care:

• DBT and RO-DBT to build emotional regulation and distress tolerance
• CBT and CBT-E, the gold-standard cognitive framework for eating disorders
• ACT to reconnect you with a life and values beyond food struggles
• Group, individual, and family therapy delivered securely by video
• Mindful eating and cooking classes guided in your own kitchen

You will work with a multidisciplinary team: clinical psychologists and licensed professional counselors, registered dietitians, a registered nurse, and a professional chef, the same staff who treat our in-person patients. BCC treats adults, and our specialty is binge eating disorder, compulsive overeating, and food addiction. We do not provide adolescent treatment, and anorexia and bulimia are not our primary focus. We are a behavioral health practice, not a prescriber or a diet program.

Telehealth care is covered by most major insurers. BCC is in-network with a wide range of carriers including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Tricare, Humana, UMR, Carelon, Oscar, Imagine Health, Sana, MultiPlan, Meritain Health, ComPsych, Curative, 90 Degree Benefits, and Healthcare Highways. We also accept CareCredit, and if a claim is denied, we file the appeal for you at no cost.

Because our program is fully available by telehealth, your zip code does not decide your access to care. Whether you are in West Texas, the Panhandle, the Valley, or a small town between the big cities, you can complete our entire eating disorder IOP from home. Patients who prefer in-person care are always welcome at our Medical Center location in San Antonio, with morning sessions 11am to 2pm Tuesday through Friday, evening sessions 5:30 to 8:30pm Monday through Thursday, and a Saturday group 10am to 1pm.
